Utah women's gymnastics is perfect, twice

Feb 6, 2015

The word "perfect" gets thrown around a lot in sports but rarely is it used correctly. Friday night at the Huntsman Center, however, Utah's Tory Wilson was literally perfect on the vault. She kicked things off for the No. 4 Utes by sticking her landing and earning a perfect 10.

The Red Rocks were rolling in their first rotation and the nation's top-ranked individual gymnast, Georgia Dabritz, hadn't even performed her vault yet. With another sellout crowd already buzzing from Wilson's vault, Dabritz the unthinkable.

That's right folks, back-to-back perfect 10's. It was amazing, #12Best worthy, but not exactly historic. Back in 1993 Kristen Kenoyer and Aimee Trepanier scored perfect 10's on the floor routine for Utah. And, needless to say, on the heels of Wilson and Dabritz's blistering start, the Red Rocks cruised to a 197.825-194.100 win over Arizona State.

Wilson and Dabritz caught up with Pac-12 Networks' Amanda Borden to talk about their heroics following the meet. Watch the interview here.
