Arizona State baseball rings in new era with walk-off over No. 5 Oklahoma State

Feb 14, 2015

The Arizona State baseball team didn't wait long to make a memorable moment at Phoenix Municipal stadium.

Friday night marked the 2015 season opener, the beginning of the coach Tracy Smith era, and the school's debut at its new home ballpark. It ended with a walk-off home run to remember.

With no runners on and no out in the bottom of the 10th inning, sophomore Colby Woodmansee blasted a solo shot to left field to give No. 18 ASU a momentous 4-3 opening day victory against No. 5 Oklahoma State. It capped off a nice comeback for the Sun Devils, who faced a 3-2 deficit heading into the bottom of the eighth.

Props to ASU's student radio play-by-play man, Dominic Cotroneo, for this great call of Woodmansee's walk-off.
