WR Bralon Addison states case to be next Oregon QB

May 2, 2015

The Ducks have quite the shoes to fill at quarterback with Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota off to the Tennessee Titans, but they appear to have some solid talent if Saturday’s spring game is any indication.

Jeff Lockie looked in command and Taylor Alie and Ty Griffin made some nice plays, but wide receiver Bralon Addison probably raised the most eyebrows with two impressive pass attempts in the first half. Showing off his cannon on a couple of trick plays, Addison threw an approximately 40-yard rope to Darren Carrington in the first quarter and then evaded multiple tacklers before firing off a touchdown pass to Carrington while getting sent to the turf.

Not bad for a guy who missed the entire 2014 season with a knee injury. The Ducks have plenty of options at QB for 2015 (not to mention Vernon Adams, who plans to join Oregon after graduating from Eastern Washington), but Addison seems like a good option for trick plays and bigtime emergency situations.
