Oct 18, 2016
Jim Shorin/Stanford Athletics

THIS WEEK: Corey Baird, JR, Forward, STANFORD
• Stanford scored six combined goals in its two games against No. 25 San Diego State and No. 17 UCLA and Corey Baird had a direct hand in three of them, tallying his first three assists of the season.
• The junior forward set up Foster Langsdorf and Tomas Hilliard-Arce in the Cardinal's 3-1 win over No. 25 SDSU on Thursday.
• On Sunday, his assist of Sam Werner's goal in the 66th minute started a 15-minute barrage that gave Stanford a 3-0 win over No. 17 UCLA.
• Baird now has 20 assists in 55 career matches, a total which is ninth in program history. He is also tied for 12th among active NCAA players in that category.
• After starting the year 0-1-3, Stanford has gone 8-1-0 in its last nine games. The Cardinal is a perfect 5-0 in conference, has scored nine times and allowed just one goal.
• This is Baird's third career nod and Stanford's 25th all-time.

ALSO NOMINATED: Michael Sauers, SDSU; Blayne Martinez, UCLA; Mason Robertson, WASH
