UCLA

Gimme more Pac-12 vs. SEC football – UCLA has scheduled a home-and-home series with Auburn for 2027 and 2028, with the Tigers coming to the Rose Bowl in 2027 and the Bruins traveling to Jordan-Hare in 2028. The Bruins also scheduled future dates with Hawai’i (2020, 2021 and 2027) and New Mexico State (2020).

Washington

Washington quarterback Jake Browning was named to the Manning Award watch list alongside Arizona’s Khalil Tate and Arizona State’s Manny Wilkins. The Manning Award goes to the top quarterback in college football (taking bowl games into account).

USC

Check this out – USC long snapper Jake Olson jumped off a high dive Thursday, and USC thankfully put the footage out on Twitter (link provided by CBS Sports). Great tweet by Olson, who is blind, writing “the trick is not to look down” when referring to his high-dive experience.

Stanford

This is from a couple of weeks ago, but the Stanford football Twitter account posted it earlier this week, so it’s newsworthy enough again in our books – Michelle R. Martinelli USA TODAY’s For the Win considers Stanford the most likeable team in college football. USC (11th) and Washington (15th) also get some love.

Arizona

Former Arizona quarterback and reigning Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles injured his shoulder in the Philadelphia Eagles’ preseason game against the New England Patriots Thursday night. Foles said after the game that he feels fine but there’s no official word yet on the severity of the injury.

Oregon State

In this latest Oregon State football practice report from The Oregonian/OregonLive, we learn that running back Calvin Tyler Jr. and safety David Morris will be out “an extended amount of time” due to injuries suffered in camp.

California

Cal women’s water polo head coach Coralie Simmons will be an assistant coach for the USA Women’s National Team for a three-game series against Australia starting Sunday at Spieker Aquatics Complex. The USA women’s water polo team, by far the best squad in the world, is getting ready for the FINA World Cup (Sept. 4-9 in Russia).

Utah

Cool story from Eric Adelson of Yahoo Sports on how former Utah defensive back and current New Orleans Saint Marcus Williams is rebounding from giving up the game-winning touchdown in the second round of the playoffs to the Minnesota Vikings last year. In case you needed a reminder of what play we’re talking about

Washington State

Peep this Washington State women’s volleyball season preview, produced by the good folks at Pac-12.com. The Cougs are coming off an 18-16 season that saw them reach the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Oregon

Emily Caron of Sports Illustrated about Oregon men’s basketball’s exciting incoming freshman class, anchored by Bol Bol, who is the top-ranked center in his recruiting class.

Colorado

Former Buff Jeremy Bloom is excited about the direction of Colorado football, saying the team’s “expectations are sky high” (CBS Denver).

Arizona State

Doug Haller explains why we love to see walk-ons get scholarships, using Arizona State defensive lineman Jordan Hoyt as an example (the former walk-on got his surprise scholie on Sunday).
