Four Former Cats Advance to NBA Finals

Sep 28, 2020

For the sixth straight season, the Arizona Wildcats will have at least one former player competing in the NBA Finals as either a player or a coach. This year's NBA Finals will feature former Wildcats Andre Iguodala and Solomon Hill leading the Miami Heat against Miles Simon and Quinton Crawford, who serve as assistant coaches for the Los Angeles Lakers.

The quartet increases the all-time number of appearances by former Arizona players in the NBA Finals to 45 (full list below).

And with two former Wildcats on both teams in the Finals, the total number of NBA Championships won is guaranteed to improve to 28 (full list below).

Iguodala will be making his sixth straight appearance in the NBA Finals, but his first with the Miami Heat after being traded from Memphis to South Beach during the season. He won titles in 2015, 2017 and 2018 with the Golden State Warriors.

Hill is making his first appearance in the NBA Finals as he wraps up his seventh season in the NBA.

Simon and Crawford are both making their first appearances in the NBA Finals as well, with the Lakers making their first appearance in the NBA Finals since the 2009-10 season.
