Huskies Welcome All-American Transfer Chiotti

Sep 30, 2020

SEATTLE - The Huskies picked up a big addition for the start of fall classes this week as Beaverton, Ore. native Taylor Chiotti has become a Dawg after spending the past two years at Oregon. Chiotti has excelled at everything from 800-meters up to 6k cross country and she earned her first All-America honor for the 2020 indoor track season as part of Oregon's distance medley relay.

A year ago, Chiotti was the top runner for the Ducks at the 2019 NCAA Cross Country Championships as well as at West Regionals. She finished 79th at cross country nationals and was 13th at regionals to earn All-West Region honors. Moving into the 2020 indoor track season, Chiotti competed just one time, but ran the 800m leg on the Oregon DMR that qualified for NCAA Indoors by winning the MPSF Championship title in 10:59.39.

As just a freshman on the track in 2019, Chiotti placed fifth in the Pac-12 Championship final at 800-meters in a PR of 2:05.87. She ran the 1,500-meters at NCAA West Prelims and placed 37th overall, setting a PR during the season of 4:20.29.

Chiotti's prep career at Southridge High School saw her finish top three at the Oregon 6A state meet as a sophomore, junior, and senior. As a junior she took runner-up in the state final behind new Husky teammate Kelly Makin.
