Husky Homecoming | Release: UW Athletics Shares Plans For Cheering on the Dawgs This Season

SEATTLE – The University of Washington Department of Athletics has announced plans to host a virtual Husky Homecoming this Saturday, November 14.

The celebration will take place as part of Washington football's season opener vs. Oregon State, set to kick off at 8 p.m. PT at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium. The UW is excited to continue its tradition of holding a Homecoming game, even with changes being made in response to COVID-19's impact on game days and beyond.

Fans can take part in the celebration by using #HuskyHomecoming to share photos and Homecoming messages on social media. Washington Athletics will share these posts on an interactive feed located at GoHuskies.com/Homecoming.

The University of Washington campus community will join Husky Athletics by sharing photos and Homecoming moments from the past, as well as engaging student groups and alums to celebrate Montlake tradition. More information will be shared during the buildup to gameday, including a celebration of UW's Homecoming Scholars and Distinguished Alumni Veteran, so stay tuned for more upper campus communications and engagement opportunities.

The Big W Club is also urging former student-athletes to "come home" by participating in  a virtual Homecoming Blanket Parade. Husky alums should use #HuskyHomecoming on social media to send a photo from a past Blanket Parade, or take a new photo at home with their Husky blanket or letterman's jacket.

This year's Homecoming recognizes that the strength of the Dawg is the pack, and Washington Athletics is proud to have Husky Nation as part of the pack. The Tyee Club is encouraging fans to consider donating to the One Team effort to help support all 22 sports and programs at the University of Washington.

Visit the Husky Fan Hub for more ways to get involved in gameday.
