Pregame:

  • The Colorado Buffaloes (4-0, 3-1 Pac-12) will be facing off against their rocky mountain rival, the Utah Utes (1-2, 1-2 Pac-12).
  • The Buffaloes are coming off a 24-13 comeback win over the Arizona Wildcats. This was led by a 301 yard rushing effort from sophomore Jarek Broussard. Broussard is currently the nation's second leading rusher with 183.3 yards per game. 
  • The Utah Utes are coming off their first win of the season with their 30-24 win over the Beavers of Oregon State last weekend. 
  • Senior linebacker, Nate Landman, has shined this season as well. Earning back-to-back national player of the week honors, Landman joins Kordell Stewart as the only CU players to be nationally honored in back-to-back games. Landman leads the team in tackles (54, 43 solo), including four quarterback sacks. 
  • Colorado is 3-0 in league play for the first time since joining the Pac-12. The Buffs are one of just nine undefeated teams remaining in the country heading into the final two weeks of play. 
  • The Buffs are also ranked for the first time since October of 2018. Coming in at No. 21 in the Associated Press and College Football Playoff Rankings and No. 22 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

Uniforms: Colorado will be wearing all black this morning with black jerseys and pants with matte black helmets. The Utes will be wearing white jerseys and helmets with red pants. 
Coin Toss: Colorado won the coin toss and deferred to the second half. Utah will defend the south goal. 

Start of game: 

1Q: Utah Touchdown: It took the Utes just three plays to move the ball into the red zone. Three plays later, Utah quarterback Jake Bentley found Solomon Enis on a slant route for a seven yard touchdown. PAT from Jadon Redding was good. Utah leads 7-0 with 12:03 remaining in the 1st quarter. 
1Q:
 Colorado Punt: After a pair of completions to La'Vontae Shenault, the Utah defense did not allow the Buffs to move any further. After Colorado quarterback Sam Noyer was sacked for a loss of six yards, the Buffs could not convert on 3rd and long and were forced to punt. Punt from Josh Watts went 42 yards and was returned 9 yards by Britain Covey of Utah. 1st and 10 Utah from their own 45 yard line. 
1Q: Utah Punt: On the first play of the drive, Brant Kuithe had a 19 yard catch down to the CU 36 yard line. After that, Colorado's defense was able to halt Utah's run game on first and second down and force an incompletion on third down. Utah punted on 4th and 11 and the kick from Ben Lennon went 32 yards and wad downed at the Colorado 5 yard line. 
1Q: Colorado Punt: Colorado was only able to gain 4 total yards on that drive and went three and out. Punt from Watts went 53 yards and was returned 7 yards by Covey to the Utah 45 yard line. 1st and 10 Utes with 6:10 remaining in the 1st quarter. 
1Q: Utah Punt: Colorado's defense did not allow the Utes to do anything. On third down, Nate Landman came up with a big tackle to force 4th down and a Utah punt. Punt from Utah went 34 yards and was fair caught by Dimitri Stanley at the CU 20 yard line. 
1Q: Colorado Turnover: After a 42 yard completion to K.D. Nixon on the second play of the drive, quarterback Sam Noyer kept the ball on the next play and fumbled. Fumble was forced by Devin Lloyd and recovered by Utah. Utah will begin their drive from their own 43 yard line. 
1Q: Utah Punt: Colorado quickly got the ball back after the turnover. The Buffs were able to stop the run from Utah early in the down set and then stop Bentley on a quarterback run on third down. After the punt, Colorado will begin their drive from their own 10 yard line. 
1Q: End of Quarter: On the last play of the quarter, Noyer found Shenault for a 41 yard completion to move the Buffs into Utah territory. 1st and 10 CU from the Utah 35 yard line. End of 1st quarter. Utah leads 7-0. 

Start of 2nd Quarter: 

2Q: Touchdown Colorado: Colorado began the quarter with four straight run plays. After moving the ball further into Utah territory, Noyer threw a beautiful pass between the safety and cornerback and right into the hands of Maurice Bell for a 21 yard touchdown. PAT from Price was good. Colorado is tied with Utah 7-7 with 12:46 remaining in the 2nd quarter. 
2Q: Utah Turnover:
 Beginning their drive from their own 11 yard line, Utah moved the ball well on the ground and in the air. Right after Utah got into Colorado territory, Bentley overthrew a ball and his pass was intercepted by Mekhi Blackmon of CU. Blackmon returned the ball 1 yard before going out-of-bounds. 1st and CU from their own 18 yard line with 9:07 remaining in the 2nd quarter.
2Q: Colorado Punt:
After two 3rd down conversions on the drive, Colorado could not come up with another. The Buffs moved the ball down to the Utah 37 yard line before being stopped on 3rd down and forced to punt. Punt from Watts went into the end zone for a touchback. 1st and 10 Utah from their own 20 yard line with 5:21 remaining in the 2nd quarter. 
2Q: Utah Punt and Colorado Touchdown: Early in the drive, the Utes were able to develop some momentum with the run game thanks to some strong runs from Ty Jordan. Then, on a non-contact play, linebacker Landman went down and was helped off the field with a leg injury. On the play after the injury, linebacker Carson Wells stepped up and took down Bentley behind the line of scrimmage for a sack. This forced Utah to punt and after a 42 yard punt, freshman Brenden Rice of CU returned the kick 81 yards for a touchdown. PAT from Price was good. Colorado leads 14-7 with 1:30 remaining in the 2nd quarter. 
2Q: Utah Punt:
After the touchdown, the Colorado defense applied excellent pressure to the Utah QB Bentley. On the first play, wells was able to geta tip on a pass to force an incompletion, on the second play, Jonathan Van Diest stopped a QB run and tackled Bentley out-of-bounds. Then on third down, the defense was able to get pressure on Bentley and force an incompletion and a punt. After the punt Colorado will begin their drive from their own 23 yard line. 
2Q: Colorado Turnover: The Buffs handed the ball off to Broussard twice to start the drive. On the second run, Broussard fumbled the ball after a nine yard gain. Utah recovered. 1st and 10 Utes. 
2Q: Utah Field Goal: With 13 seconds left to start the drive, Bentley was able to complete a pair of passes to Covey to set up Utah for a 42 yard field goal attempt. Field goal attempt from Redding was good as time expired. End of 1st half, Colorado leads 14-10. 

End of 1st Half: Colorado will receive the 2nd half kickoff. 

Start of 2nd Half: 

3Q: Touchdown Colorado: Colorado began their drive at their own 39 yard line. On the first play of the drive, Sam Noyer connected with Rice for a 61 yard touchdown and his second score of the game. PAT from price was good. Colorado leads 21-10 with 14:39 remaining in the 3rd quarter. 
3Q: Utah Touchdown:
Ty Jordan highlighted this drive for the Utes. After a Colorado penalty, Jordan exploded to the right side of the field for a 35 yard run before being pushed out-of-bounds. Then two plays later, Jordan found a hole up the middle and found his way into the end zone for an 18 yard Utah touchdown. PAT from Redding was good. Colorado leads 21-17 with 13:14 remaining in the 3rd quarter. 
3Q: Colorado Punt: On 3rd and 4, Noyer found Stanley who was just 1 yard short of the line to gain. Colorado went three and out and was forced to punt. After the punt from Watts, Utah will begin their drive from their own 20 yard line. 
3Q: Utah Touchdown: On the second play of the drive, Bentley found Bryan Thompson on the sideline for a 30 yard gain to move the ball close to midfield. Then, some Colorado penalties helped the Utes move the ball to the CU 20 yard line. From there, Bentley found Covey over the top for a 20 yard Utah touchdown. PAT from Redding was good. Utah leads 24-21 with 6:23 remaining in the 3rd quarter. 
3Q: Colorado Turnover:
Broussard began this drive with his longest run of the game, a 17 yard run to the outside. On the next play, Noyer's pass was intercepted by Nephi Sewell and returned 11 yards to the 50 yard line. 1st and 10 Utes. 
3Q: Utah Turnover on Downs: With great field position, Utah took advantage. Utah's run game continued to shine, helping them move the ball all the way to the Colorado 1 yard line. From there, Utah missed a wide open player in the end zone and fumbled a snap on 4th and goal to turn the ball over to the Colorado offense. 
3Q: End of Quarter: The Buffs began their drive from their own 5 yard line. Colorado was able to get a first down thanks to a 10 yard reception from Broussard. 1st and 10 CU from their own 16 yard line. End of quarter. Utah leads 24-21. 

Start of 4th Quarter: 

4Q: Colorado Punt: After a few strong runs from Broussard, the Utah defense came up big to stop the Buffaloes, The Utes gave Noyer almost no time in the pocket and he was forced to throw two incompletions on 2nd and 3rd down. This forced the Buffs to punt. Covey returned the punt from Watts 28 yards to the Utah 47 yard line. 1st and 10 Utes. 
4Q: Utah Field Goal: The Utes moved the ball to the CU 25 yard line. On 3rd and 4 Akil Jones and Wells of CU teamed up to stuff Ty Jordan at the line of scrimmage and bring up 4th down and force a field goal attempt. 43 yard field goal attempt from Redding was good. Utah leads 27-21 with 9:19 remaining in the 4th quarter. 
4Q: Colorado Turnover on Downs:
Early in the drive, Noyer was taken off the field with an injury and replaced by Tyler Lytle. Lytle was in for four plays and was able to complete a pass and rush for 15 yards to move the chains. Noyer then returned to play. The Buffs were forced with 3rd and 6 and could not convert on a Noyer run. This brought up 4th down where Colorado could not pick up the first down thanks to a batted pass by the Utah defense. Turnover on downs. 1st and 10 Utah at their own 34 yard line. 
4Q: Utah Touchdown: On the next play, Jordan accelerated up the middle and ran all the way to the end zone for a 66 yard touchdown run for the Utes. Utah's 2-point conversion was good with a Bentley completion to Dalton Kincaid. Utah leads 35-21 with 4:38 remaining in the 4th quarter. 
4Q: Colorado Turnover on Downs: On the ensuing drive, Noyer threw four incompletions and the Buffs turned the ball over on downs. 1st and 10 Utah from the Colorado 18 yard line. 
4Q: Utah Field Goal: Ty Jordan ran the ball three times for the Utes and lost two yards. On 4th down, Redding attempted a 38 yard field goal and it was good. Utah leads 38-21 with 2:17 remaining in the fourth quarter. 
4Q: Colorado Turnover on Downs:
After a completion to Nixon on the first play of the drive, Noyer threw three more incompletions and the Buffs turned the ball over on downs. 1st and 10 Utah from the CU 27 yard line. 
4Q: End of Game: The Utes lined up in victory formation as Bentley took a knee three times and time expired. End of Game. Utah wins 38-21.
