Cal Finishes Weekend With All-Time Top 10 Indoor Marks

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Cal track & field set new marks on the all-time indoor top 10 list as the Golden Bears wrapped up action at the Air Force Invitational on Saturday.

Deshae Wise sprinted to a second-place finish in the women's 60-meter hurdles final, clocking a time of 8.32 seconds to improve on her personal record. Wise also moved to within two hundredths of a second from the school record (8.30) set by Kimyon Broom in 2010.

Later in the afternoon, Wise followed her performance by winning the women's 200-meter title and moving to fifth on the Cal all-time indoor list with a time of 24.29 seconds. Maisie Stevens took third place in the event at 24.67 seconds.

After tying Antonette Carter's school record on Friday in qualifying with a blazing 7.33 second women's 60-meter time, Ezinne Abba clocked 7.43 seconds on Saturday to take second place in the finals. On the men's side, Christian Catlin followed up his strong showing Friday with a 6.84 second runner-up finish of his own, moving into a tie for seventh on the Cal all-time indoor top ten list in his first appearance as a Golden Bear.

Busola Akinduro had another strong debut in her first appearance wearing the Blue and Gold, leaping to a lifetime best and top-four mark all-time on the Cal indoor list at 12.80 meters (42-0) in the women's triple jump to take second-place.    

Up Next: The Bears return to action on Friday, Feb. 19 for the Air Force Invitational #2 back in Colorado Springs, Colo.
