COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Deshae Wise set a new school record in the women's 60-meter hurdles, leading California track & field on an impressive day of competition Friday at the Air Force Collegiate Open.

Wise has started the season with a bang, winning three of the four finals she has entered and taking second in the other. She blazed to a time of 8.28 seconds to take the win in the 60-meter hurdle final after crossing the line with the top time in the prelims at 8.35 seconds. Wise followed that performance by picking up her second win of the day in the women's 200-meters, finishing with a time of 24.43 seconds.

The Bears picked up wins in eight different events on Friday.

Camryn Rogers started the meet right where she left off after week one, improving on her second-best all-time mark at Cal, taking the win in the women's weight throw with a heave of 21.31 meters (69-11). Rogers moved up to No. 12 on the 2020-21 NCAA Division I indoor qualifying list with her mark.

Cal swept the podium in the women's 60-meter dash, led by Ezinne Abba, who took the win in a time of 7.40 seconds. She was followed closely by Kennedy Williams as she set a new personal record (7.41 seconds) to take second place. Jenea Spinks opened her indoor season with a time of 7.45 seconds for a third-place finish. Williams takes over the No. 3 spot on the Cal all-time indoor list with her time and Spinks is now tied for fourth on the list. Abba's time of 7.33 seconds at the Air Force Invitational on Jan. 23 tied the Cal indoor school record in the event.

Christian Catlin improved on his strong Golden Bear debut from week one, moving up to a tie for fourth on the Cal all-time indoor list in the men's 60-meter dash with a personal best time of 6.78 seconds to take the victory in the event. Catlin wasn't done, as he wrapped up his day with another victory and lifetime best in the men's 200-meters in a time of 21.99 seconds, just missing the Cal all-time indoor top 10 list.

The Bears started the day off strong in the jumps, sweeping four of the top five spots in the women's long jump, including a win from Sydney Reid with a best leap of 5.80 meters (19-0.50). Noelle Schiller took third-place with a mark of 5.62 meters (18-5.25) and Windy Margerum came in fourth with a top jump of 5.58 meters (18-3.75).

Iffy Joyner posted a mark of 17.10 meters (56-1.25) to finish second and Jeff Duensing made his debut in the Blue and Gold with a top mark of 17.02 meters (55-10.25) to take third place.
