Orange Team Wins Intrasquad

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State track and field team hosted its black and orange intrasquad on Saturday afternoon. The orange team claimed the victory with 71 team points, while the black team posted 43 points.
 
"It was awesome to see everyone compete again," said head coach Louie Quintana. "It was cold and windy, but our athletes gamed up and competed hard. If this had been a meet that would count - we would have had several performances that would have put people into the first round of the NCAA meet.  There are ton of positives to build off of moving forward to our first regular season event in three weeks."
 
Adael Scatena led the orange team by winning both the 100m hurdles (14.62) and 400m dash (58.31). It was Delaney Bahn with a time of 25.52 earning the win for the orange team in the 200m dash, while Mari Friedman (2:13.14) and Rebecca Ledsham (2:15.47) took first and second in the 800m run for team orange.
 
The orange team also ran away with first and second in the one mile run with Meagen Lowe (4:51.02) and Gabby Peterson (4:52.56). Track events were wrapped up with the orange team winning the 4x400 meter relay in a time of 3:55.91.
 
It was a straight sweep for the black team in the 3000 meter run as Alyssa Foote took first in a time of 9:36.23, followed by Batya Beard (9:39.31) and Haley Wolf (9:39.75) to round out the top three spots.
 
In the field, Lindsay McShane earned the win in discus for the orange team with a throw of 45.45 meters. McShane also earned a win in the hammer throw with a distance of 61.60 meters. Sydney Guthrie-Baker claimed a second-place finish with a hammer throw distance of 53.33 meters to give team orange antoher three points.
 
Bahn brought home the high jump win for the orange team with a height of 1.60 meters. A throw of 53.00 meters in the javelin gave Jordynn Slater the win. Guthrie-Baker posted a shot put distance of 13.40 meters for yet another team orange win.
 
The black team claimed the victory in the triple jump behind a 12.40 meter finish from Anneke Moersdorf.
