Hansen Named Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week

Feb 22, 2021

SAN FRANCISCO — Colorado goalkeeper Dani Hansen was selected as the Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday.

The sophomore from Broomfield, Colo., recorded her second shutout of the season against Weber State on Saturday. Hansen recorded six saves, including four in the second half to preserve CU's 1-0 win.

Hansen, in her first year at CU, has made starts in two of Colorado's three matches early on this season. The transfer from Washington has made 12 saves in her 187 minutes this season.

This is the first career weekly honor for Hansen. It comes on the heels of Hannah Sharts being named the conference's Defensive Player of the Week last week.

It's the first time a CU goalkeeper has been honored since Jalen Tompkins won the award on Oct. 1, 2019. Tompkins finished her career with seven weekly honors.

Hansen will make her return to Washington this weekend when the Buffs take on the Huskies. CU is set for two matches against Washington. The series will open on Friday and the two teams will meet again in non-conference play on Sunday.
