The 2019 NCAA national champion in the women's hammer throw, Rogers qualified for her first indoor nationals competition this year after sitting out the 2020 indoor season in preparation for the outdoor slate, which was ultimately canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We're very excited to get the opportunity to compete at the Indoor Championships and represent our team and the Cal family at the highest level of the sport," Cal throws coach Mohamad Saatara said.

It was a strong season from beginning to end for Rogers. She posted a top mark of 21.78 meters (71-5.50) to take her third win of the season in as many tries at the Championships at the Peak on Feb. 26, breaking Chioma Amaechi's Cal record of 21.75 meters (71-4.25) set in 2014.

Rogers improved her best mark in each of the three competitions entered this year. She opened the season with a best heave of 21.08 meters (69-2) on Jan. 22 at the Air Force Invitational, followed by 21.31 meters (69-11) at the Air Force Collegiate Open on Feb. 19.
