SEATTLE – Just six days after the end of the indoor season and five days after the end of cross country, the Husky track and field program turns the page to outdoors, opening up Saturday with the Doris Heritage Track Festival at West Seattle Stadium.

The meet, hosted by Seattle Pacific, will get going at 10 a.m. on Saturday and run all day with the final event scheduled for 5 p.m.

The javelin throwers have waited two years to finally launch the spears. For the women, Kathleen Horn, Natalie Holmer, and Tanya Simora are all entered along with multi-eventers Ida Eikeng, Lauren Heggen, and Lyndsey Lopes. In the men's javelin, Dalton Sugg is the one Dawg set to debut on Saturday.

Beatrice Asomaning and Ginny Mehl are entered in the hammer, which would be the first collegiate attempts in that event for each. Weight throw All-American Jayden White will switch over to the hammer along with Connor Jost and Sam Van Peursem.

Lopes, Eikeng, and Hannah Rusnak are entered in the women's shot put, and men's decathlete Ollie Thorner is entered in the men's shot.

Jaylen Taylor will go in the long jump and Jelani Heath and Heggen are entered on the women's side. The women's multi trio of Eikeng, Lopes, and Rusnak are entered in the high jump.

In the sprints, school record-holder Darhian Mills is slated to open up in the 400-meter hurdles, her first time racing the event since the 2019 NCAA Outdoor final. After a strong indoor season running unattached, Julian Body will don a uniform and run the 400m hurdles along with Jonathan Birchman. Evan Mafilas and Olivia Ribera will end the day in the 200-meter dash.
