Beavers Rally In Afternoon Round At Redhawk Invitational

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – The Oregon State men's golf team knocked 10 strokes off its opening round on a 36-hole Monday to put them in position for a strong finish at the Seattle U. Redhawk Invitational.
 
The Beavers sit in eighth place in the 15-team field with a 10-over 294-284--578 at the par-71, 6,976-yard Chambers Bay Golf Course.
 
The final round of the two-day, 54-hole tournament will begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday and live scoring is available at BirdieFire.com.
 
Carson Barry continued his strong play from the Duck Invitational, an event Oregon State won, with an even-par 73-69--142 that has him in a tie for 18th place.
 
Kyosuke Hara is tied for 29th place with a 2-over 73-71--144 and Spencer Tibbits is tied for 35th with a 3-over 72-73--145
 
Freshman Mateo Fuenmayor shot a 5-over 76-71--147 and is tied for 45th place, while Jackson Lake is tied for 61st with an 8-over 77-73--150.
 
Nolan Thoroughgood, who is competing as an individual, is tied for 24th place with a 1-over 71-72--143.
 
San Francisco (20-under 548) has a 12-stroke lead over Washington and Utah (8-under 560). Matthew Anderson of San Francisco (7-under 135) has a one-stroke edge over teammate Soren Lind (6-under 136) for the individual crown.
