Mar 30, 2021

SAN FRANCISCO – With Elite Eight victories by ARIZONA and STANFORD, the Pac-12 will be represented by multiple women’s basketball programs in the Final Four for the second time in Conference history.

The No. 3 seed Wildcats will be making their national semifinal debut after winning the Mercado Region with a 66-53 victory over No. 4 seed Indiana on Monday night. ARIZONA will face No. 1 seed and River Walk Region champion Connecticut in the Final Four on Friday, April 2.

No. 1 overall seed STANFORD earned the 14th Final Four berth in program history by taking down No. 2 seed Louisville 78-63 on Tuesday night to claim the Alamo Region crown. In a rematch of its most recent semifinal showdown from 2017, the Cardinal will face No. 1 seed South Carolina, the champion from the Hemisfair Region, on Friday night.

Since 2013, Pac-12 teams have advanced to the Final Four a nation-leading eight times overall, unequaled postseason success that has not been limited to a small number of programs. ARIZONA is the sixth different Pac-12 school to advance to the Final Four all-time and all six have earned a Final Four trip over the past eight NCAA Tournaments, two more than any other conference.
