Bruins Finish Up Day One at Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invite

LOS ANGELES – Day one of the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invite is in the books, as the Bruins came away with strong individual performances in various multi events. Christina Chenault, Isa Videler, and Alexandra Chan were the Bruins' representatives in the multi events at Drake Stadium.
 
100m Hurdles
Chan was the Bruins' top finisher in the 100m hurdles, going 14.84 for 863 points and fifth place overall. Videler was close behind, taking eighth place at 14.90. She earned 855 points for her performance.
 
High Jump
The high jump competition saw Chenault take place with a clearance of 1.68m (5-06.00). She earned 830 points for the mark. Videler notched fourth place with a clearance of 1.65m (5-05.00). She eclipsed the bar on her third attempt at the height to secure 795 points in the event.
 
Shot Put
Chenault picked up an event victory in the shot put with a clearance of 12.28m (40-03.50), almost three feet clear of her nearest challenger. Chenault's mark was good for 680 points. Videler was third in the event with a toss of 11.09m (36-04.75), earning her 601 points.
 
200m
Videler was the Bruins' lone participant in the 200, crossing in sixth place with a time of 25.64. The time was good for 829 points.
 
Women's Heptathlon Standings
Videler was the only Bruin to compete in each of the first four heptathlon events on Thursday. She compiled 3,080 points for third place heading into day two.
 
Day Two – Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational
Day two of the event is scheduled to take place on Friday. The first event on the track will be the decathlon 110m hurdles at 10:30am PT.
