SAN FRANCISCO - The Pac-12 Conference announced today the All-Pac-12 Women’s Soccer honors for the 2020 season, playing during the spring of 2021, as voted on by league coaches. USC’s Penelope Hocking was voted Pac-12 Forward of the Year, earning the Trojans back-to-back Forward of the Year honors after teammate Tara McKeown won in 2019. Regular-season Conference champion UCLA led the way with four awards, as Delanie Sheehan was named Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year, Lauren Brzykcy was named Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year, Reilyn Turner was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and head coach Amanda Cromwell was named Pac-12 Coach of the Year. STANFORD’s Kiki Pickett rounded out the group as Pac-12 Defender of the Year. In addition, the All-Pac-12 and All-Freshman Teams were also announced.

PAC-12 FORWARD OF THE YEAR — Penelope Hocking, Jr., USC (Anaheim, Calif.)

USC junior Penelope Hocking (Anaheim, Calif.) becomes the second player in USC history to earn Pac-12 Women’s Soccer Forward of the Year honors, joining teammate Tara McKeown in 2019. This season, Hocking led USC (7-3-3, 6-3-2) to a second-place finish in the Pac-12 and a first-round bye in the NCAA Division I College Cup as the No. 8 overall seed. She finished first in the Pac-12 in total points (23), highlighted by a Conference-best 10 goals while leading the league with 1.77 points per contest. Her top game of the season came against Washington on April 2, when she recorded three goals and an assist en route to earning Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week honors. With the performance, Hocking became just the second player in program history to reach the 40-goal plateau for her career, joining Isabelle Harvey (48). USC enters postseason play unbeaten in its last seven games, and will face the winner of a first-round matchup between Bowling Green and Ole Miss in round No. 2.

PAC-12 MIDFIELDER OF THE YEAR — Delanie Sheehan, Sr., UCLA (Brentwood, Calif.)

In her senior season, UCLA’s Delanie Sheehan (Brentwood, Calif.) played and started in 14 games. She helped lead the Bruins to their first Pac-12 regular-season title since 2014, a year after the program won the National Championship. This spring, UCLA (12-1-2, 9-1-1) dominated the pitch by outscoring its opponents 33-11, with Sheehan finishing second in points per game (0.93) and total points (13) for all midfielders in the Conference. Sheehan’s two game-winners occurred during one-goal victories over Pac-12 opponents Colorado and Stanford, while her latest goal against USC helped ensure that UCLA seniors would remain unbeaten against their rivals for their collegiate careers.

PAC-12 DEFENDER OF THE YEAR — Kiki Pickett, Sr., STANFORD (Santa Barbara, Calif.)

A three-time Pac-12 champion and two-time national title winner, Stanford senior Kiki Pickett (Santa Barbara, Calif.) capped off her final year on The Farm with yet another All-Pac-12 season, including her second First-Team accolade. This spring, Pickett started all nine games that she played in, leading Stanford’s defense while also adding her 17th career assist during her final collegiate game, a 1-0 win over rival California. Her performance against the Bears earned her the third Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honor of her career. In Pickett’s four years with the program, Stanford amassed a record of 75-8-5. A preseason 2020 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List candidate, Pickett is set to begin her professional career as the 43rd Stanford alum to play in the National Women’s Soccer League, after being selected No. 4 overall by Kansas City NWSL in the 2021 NWSL Draft.

PAC-12 GOALKEEPER OF THE YEAR — Lauren Brzykcy, R-Jr., UCLA (San Clemente, Calif.)

UCLA redshirt junior Lauren Brzykcy (San Clemente, Calif.) was one of the top goalkeepers in the nation this season, starting in and playing all 1,409 minutes of UCLA’s action this spring. In 15 starts, she kept opponents off the scoreboard seven times, making 65 total saves and at least four saves on nine occasions. The Bruins went to overtime five times this year, but lost just once for their only loss of the season, as Brzykcy’s play in net contributed to six wins by just a single goal difference. A two-time Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week recipient, Brzykcy’s 65 saves are five times more than her total from each season in 2018 and 2019 (13), while her 12-1-2 record in 2020 boosts her career winning percentage to .808 (20-4-2).

PAC-12 FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR — Reilyn Turner, UCLA (Aliso Viejo, Calif.)

The top freshman in the Pac-12 this season, UCLA’s Reilyn Turner (Aliso Viejo, Calif.) began her collegiate career red-hot with six points in her first three games. By season’s end, she tied for second in the Pac-12 with 22 total points (nine goals and four assists) across 15 games and 13 starts. Her nine goals, 1.47 points per game and 0.60 goals per contest weren’t just the top marks for the entire UCLA roster, but also ranked No. 1 for all freshmen in the Conference. Turner was the only Pac-12 player with two multi-goal games, while her five contests with multiple points was good for second behind Arizona’s Jill Aguilera (six).

PAC-12 COACH OF THE YEAR — Amanda Cromwell, UCLA

UCLA head coach Amanda Cromwell led the Bruins to their third Pac-12 title under her tenure, losing just one game this spring while outscoring opponents 33-11. UCLA’s dominant season included seven Pac-12 Player of the Week honors and a points per game mark of 2.5, more than 25 percent greater than second-place USC (1.8). The 2013 Soccer America Coach of the Year, Cromwell helped UCLA secure the No. 3 overall seed entering this year’s College Cup, the fourth postseason appearance for Cromwell during her time in Westwood. The team awaits the winner of a first-round matchup between Campbell and Iowa. The Bruins boast three individual Pac-12 postseason award winners, six players on All-Conference teams and three on the All-Freshman Team.
