Bruins Complete First Day at Pac-12 Championships

SANTA ROSA, Calif. - Senior Eddy Lai surged into the Top 10 after two rounds of the Pac-12 Championships, as the first day of play is done at the Mayacama Golf Club.

Lai opened his Monday with a 1-over 73, but closed with a 4-under 68 to sit in a tie for 10th at 3-under 141 following 36 holes. In the morning, he made four birdies on the par-5 15th, fourth and ninth holes and the par-4 sixth to go with two bogeys and a triple. In the afternoon, Lai posted six birdies on the par-4 10th and first holes, the par-5 15th, 18th and second and par-3 fifth, adding two bogeys.

As a team, the Bruins are tied for ninth (+16, 736) after a pair of 8-over 368s.

Senior Devon Bling is tied for 27th (E, 144). He shot a 2-over 74 in round one, making four birdies on the par-3 14th, par-5 15th and 18th holes and par-4 eighth to go with four bogeys and a double. Bling notched six birdies in the afternoon on the par-5 15th, 18th, second and fourth holes, the par-4 12th and the par-3 fifth, adding a bogey and a triple in a 2-under 70.

Sophomore Mason Greene is tied for 46th (+5, 149). He fired an even-par 72 in his opening round, making an eagle on the par-5 18th and birdies on the par-5 15th and ninth holes and par-3 fifth to go with two bogeys and a triple. Greene shot a 5-over 77 in round two on three birdies on the par-5 15th and par-4 16th and sixth holes, three bogeys, a double and a triple.

Junior Bryan Wiyang Teoh is tied for 53rd (+6, 150) after a pair of 3-over 75s. He made four birdies in the morning on the par-5 15th, 18th and second holes and the par-4 seventh, five bogeys and a double. In round two, Teoh posted three birdies on the par-5 15th and ninth holes and the par-4 seventh to go with two bogeys and two doubles. 

Redshirt junior Kengo Aoshima is tied for 60th (+8, 152). He shot a 2-over 74 in round one on five birdies on the par-5 18th and ninth holes, par-4 13th and seventh and par-3 third, adding five bogeys and a double. In the afternoon, he had a 6-over 78, recording three birdies in a four-hole stretch on the par-3 17th, par-5 18th and par-5 second to go with three bogeys and three doubles.

Freshman Dylan Vizanko is 71st (+13, 157). He had a 4-over 76 in round one, making a birdie on the par-5 ninth, three bogeys and a double. In round two, Vizanko had three birdies on the par-3 14th, par-5 second and par-4 sixth, four bogeys, a double and two triples in a 9-over 81.

The third round for the Bruins begins at 10 a.m. on Tuesday off the 10th tee in the order of Vizanko, Aoshima, Teoh, Greene, Bling and Lai. Live scoring will be available here.
