Kerri Clayton is the Pac-12 Player of the Week

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Sun Devil Lacrosse earned a Pac-12 Player of the Week honor for the sixth time this season, the conference announced on Monday.
 
Kerri Clayton was selected as the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season and fifth time in her career. Arizona State has now had 13 individuals receive the top weekly conference honor in Head Coach Tim McCormack's two seasons, after previously only winning the award three times in the two prior seasons. Of the possible 20 recipients of a Pac-12 Player of the Week award in 2021, ten have been Sun Devils. ASU has earned seven offensive and three defensive player of the week selections, an indication of the balance of the team. 
 
Kerri Clayton – Offensive Player of the Week
 
Kerri Clayton is making the most of her final season in Tempe, putting together an incredible finish to her illustrious career. Clayton was unstoppable in two games this weekend, compiling 10 goals and five assists (15 points). She became the first Sun Devil to reach 200 career points in the process.
 
"It was a good weekend for Kerri and she played hard for 60 minutes," Coach McCormack remarked. "She has been working hard to finish her career strong and is doing exactly that."
 
In the win over San Diego State, she scored from all different angles, helping the Sun Devils seal a victory with a second half surge. She had five goals in both games this weekend, giving her 5+ goals for the 12th time in her career.
 
Clayton isn't just a goal scorer, as she continues to get her teammates involved. She had at least seven points in both games, the third time in the past four games she has reached that mark. She now has a career-best 24 helpers this season, with seven multi-assist performances.
 
"That might be one of the most improved parts of her game since I have been here," Coach McCormack observed about Clayton's passing. "She has continued to execute the offense and makes great decisions."
 
She is one of three Sun Devils to have already reached 60 points in 14 games. Clayton's impact extends beyond the offensive end, as she collected three ground balls and caused two turnovers.
