SALT LAKE CITY - Senior Rachel Garcia and junior Aaliyah Jordan each hit home runs, while sophomore Megan Faraimo struck out four in a complete-game, two-hit shutout, as the second-ranked Bruins posted a 5-0 victory at Utah on Friday at Dumke Family Softball Stadium.

Along with the two hits, Faraimo (13-3) allowed only one other base runner on a walk. She retired the first nine hitters of the game, adding 1-2-3 innings in the fifth and sixth. Faraimo struck out a pair in the fifth.

The Bruins (29-3, 11-2 Pac-12) had nine hits from six different players, as Garcia, junior Briana Perez and sophomore Kelli Godin all recorded two hits.

UCLA didn't take long to get the first runs of the game. Junior Kinsley Washington led off with a walk, stole second, moved to third on an error and scored on a Perez triple to right-center. Jordan then launched the next pitch out to left-center, her fifth of the season, to make it 3-0.

In the fifth, Perez led off with a single, stole second and came home on a Garcia tater to dead center, her eighth of the season, to increase the lead to 5-0.

The Bruins and the Utes play a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. A live stream link will be available on the softball schedule page at UCLABruins.com.
