Feature Friday Series: Chloe Kockler

For the newest addition to our Feature Friday Series, we chat with freshman and St. George native Chloe Kockler. She attended Desert Hills High School, where she created at impressive athletic career. Kockler led the Thunder to three-consecutive region nine championships in track, from 2017-2019. Additionally, she led her team to two region nine championships in cross-country, as well as capturing the 4A state championship in 2018. This earned her all-region and second-team all-state honors. Kockler also earned academic all-state honors for cross-country in 2018, academic all-state for track in 2019 and an academic honor roll recipient all four years.

Kockler recognizes her family as her biggest supporters when it comes to athletics, in addition to her high school coaches. Her parents, Tim and Christina Kockler, encouraged her to pursue a collegiate athletic career, and have provided unconditional support. Kockler's twin, Caitlin, and younger brother Cole also play an important role in her success, providing additional support and encouragement.

Kockler is a Civil Engineering major, and is most passionate about the sustainability aspect of this career. She is most excited to compete in meets with the team and to develop as a student-athlete here at the U.

A: I love the team atmosphere as well as the mountains and the academic opportunities the university provides
