Pang, Van Der Jagt Earn Scholar All-Region

May 20, 2021

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Washington's duo of Kaylene Pang and Olivia Van der Jagt each earned Scholar All-Region awards from the United Soccer Coaches in recognition for their academic excellence. Pang was named to the First Team, while Van der Jagt earned Second Team honors.

This is the first time since 2014 that the Huskies have earned multiple Scholar All-Region awards. This is the eighth time Washington has had multiple Scholar All-Region awards in its history, doing so in 1996, 1997, 2000, 2003, 2004, 2010, 2012, and 2014.

Pang has now earned Scholar All-Region in back-to-back years after earning Second Team honors in 2019. Pang is the first Husky to earn multiple Scholar All-Region honors in their career since Kate Deines did so in 2010 and 2011. Deines, Kendyl Pele, Kim Taylor, Jeannie Rein, and Tara Bilanski are the only other Huskies ever to earn multiple Scholar All-Region awards in their careers.

For Van der Jagt, this is her first career Scholar All-Region award. Van der Jagt also earned Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll, the second straight year she has earned that award and third year in a row she has earned academic honors from the Pac-12.
