Bennett Earns Scholar All-Region Second Team Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Washington State senior Elyse Bennett earned Scholar All-West Region Second Team honors the United Soccer Coaches announced this week.
 
Bennett, who earned a degree in biology last year and is pursuing a second in psychology, is a three-time Pac-12 All-Academic honoree and scored six goals along with one assist this season. Her six goals ranked seventh in the Pac-12, while her 13 points were 10th overall. Earlier this month, she received All-Pac-12 Conference Third Team honors.
 
For her career, the senior has notched 16 goals and eight assists, a mark which ranks just outside the Cougars' top-10 for goals scored.
 
To be eligible for Scholar All-Region recognition, student-athletes must hold a 3.40 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) or better throughout their career, start more than 50 percent of all games, significantly contribute to their team and be a junior or above in academic standing.
