LOS ANGELES - Junior Kinsley Washington recorded a two-out, two-run single in the top of the fourth inning, and it held up for the second-ranked Bruins, as senior Rachel Garcia struck out five in 5 1/3 innings of shutout relief in a 2-1 victory over Minnesota on Sunday at Easton Stadium.

The Bruins (44-4) advance to next weekend's Super Regionals, where they will take on Virginia Tech. Game one will be Thursday at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN, game two will be Friday at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN2 and the if necessary game three will be Saturday at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN2.

Garcia (16-0) had 1-2-3 innings in the third, fourth and sixth, striking out two in the third. Sophomore Megan Faraimo started and fanned two in 1 2/3 innings, giving up a run and two hits, retiring the side in order in the first.

UCLA had seven hits from five different players, as Garcia and freshman Maya Brady both posted two hits.

Minnesota (31-13) got on the board in the bottom of the second on a solo home run, and maintained the lead until the fourth, when the Bruins rallied. Garcia singled with one out, Brady doubled with two outs and Washington slapped a single up the middle to score a pair to give the Bruins the lead.
