MVB Adds Four Recruits

UCLA head men's volleyball coach John Speraw and his coaching staff announced the signing of four elite student-athletes. Joining the Bruins for the 2022 season will be outside hitter Cooper Robinson, middle blocker Sean McQuiggan, opposite/outside hitter Ido David and middle blocker, Matthew Edwards.
 
Cooper Robinson is a 6-7 outside hitter/opposite who plays at Loyola HS and for SCVC Volleyball Club. He was named to the 2020 Boys 25 Underclassmen to Watch List by Volleyballmag.com. Robinson was a member of 2019 gold medal winning SCVC team at Boys Junior Nationals (Open Div. 17's). His Loyola High School team advanced to the CIF SS semifinals in 2018, 2019 and 2021.
 
Sean McQuiggan is a 6-9 middle blocker who plays for Mira Costa HS and at Rockstar Volleyball Club. He was named to the 2020 Boys 25 Underclassmen to Watch List by Volleyballmag.com. Mira Costa captured the CIF Southern Section Div. 1 championship in June. The Mustangs advanced to the 2019 CIF Southern Section semifinals and the 2019 CIF Regional Div. 1 semifinals. In 2018, Mira Costa reached the CIF SS Quarterfinals.
 
Ido David is a 6-7 opposite/outside hitter from Kiryat Ata, Israel. He joined the Israeli Senior National Team in 2018 and is playing this summer in the CEV European Silver League. Ido has been Champion of the Israeli Super League in 2019 and 2020 and named MVP of the Super League in 2019.  He spent time with the Israel Youth National Team in 2017. Ido has also been a member of the Israeli U20 National Team in 2018-2019 and from 2018-20, he saw action with his club, Hapoel Matte Asher-Akko.
 
Matthew Edwards is a 6'8 middle blocker from Irvine, CA. He plays for Woodbridge HS and at OCVC Volleyball Club. Edwards spent his senior campaign as team captain. A late bloomer to the game, he has elevated his club team to numerous top 3 finishes at tournaments throughout Southern California.

These men are committed to excellence in the classroom and will immediately add to not only the great depth on our roster but to a tremendously positive culture. We are delighted to welcome them to Westwood and we look for these men to reach new heights as future Bruins."
