EUGENE, Oregon - Throws U is bringing more hardware back to Tempe! Minard took no time to get going today. Throwing 10th in the order of flight two, the first year Sun Devil jumped to the top of the list and never looked back. Minard's throw put her at the top of the leaderboard in the opening round, but Marie-Therese Obst of Georgia came back in the second round with a 58.49m/191-10 throw to take the top spot. Minard's next four attempts never passed 185 feet and she fouled on the final round to secure her place.

Llano's first heave of the day, 65.90m/216-2, temporarily put her in seventh place, and she sat there until round three when she went 68.78m/225-8. The mark was a season's best for the Norwegian and moved her into third where she was primed to take the bronze medal until Shey Taiwo and Tara Simpson-Sullivan both passed her in round six. Llano previously finished seventh overall at the 2019 NCAA Championships.
