UCLA Named NFCA West Regional Coaching Staff of the Year

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - UCLA was honored as the 2021 Division I West Regional Coaching Staff of the Year, as announced by the NFCA on Thursday. The Bruins' coaching staff consists of head coach Kelly Inouye-Perez and assistant coaches Lisa Fernandez, Kirk Walker and Don Slaught.

One of 10 coaching staffs to be honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, UCLA is now eligible for the National Coaching Staff of the Year award, which will be announced on June 24.

UCLA posted a 47-7 overall record in 2021, finishing first in the Pac-12 Conference and making its sixth-consecutive appearance in the Women's College World Series. Inouye-Perez, who was named the '21 Pac-12 Coach of the Year, has been a part of seven NFCA Regional Coaching Staffs of the Year, including six since she became head coach (2010, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019). UCLA was named the NFCA National Coaching Staff of the Year in 2004, 2010 and 2019.
