EUGENE, Ore. - All-American Jonah Wilson got his first taste of the Olympic Trials today, as the long-awaited meet opened up at Oregon's Hayward Field. Wilson competed in the shot put today, placing 20th overall, while former Husky Eleanor Fulton safely moved through into the semifinals of the women's 1,500-meters.

Wilson was just over a week removed from earning First Team All-America honors with an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Back at the same spot, he wasn't able to find the same rhythm as he had a nationals, getting a best toss today of 60-8 1/2 and finishing 20th overall in the qualifying rounds. Still, it was a valuable learning experience for Wilson, who will have another season of eligibility for UW in 2022.

In the 1,500-meter first round, 2016 grad Fulton led her heat most of the way, and eventually wound up getting the final automatic qualifying spot from her heat in a time of 4:14.41.

UW Volunteer Assistant Alli Cash was entered in the 1,500m today as well but was forced to scratch due to a recent injury.
