Jul 14, 2021

BOULDER –  The University of Colorado women's tennis team was named to the 2021 Division I Women Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team along with five individuals named to the Scholar-Athlete team, the association announced this week.

In total 1505 women were named and 210 teams made the list. In order to be eligible, teams must have a 3.2 GPA or greater while individuals named ITA Scholar Athletes had to have a 3.5 GPA in their current academic year.

This is the seventh-time the Buffs have earned the All-Academic Team Award and just the second time in consecutive years after the 2007-2008 teams did so.

The individuals honored are Ky Ecton, Fleur Eggink, Tallulah Farrow, Megan Forster and Sara Nayar. This is the third-most individuals to earn the honor in CU history behind last year's six and the team from 2001. This is the second honor in a row for Ecton, Farrow, Forster and Nayar. Prior to this season, only a dozen athletes had ever earned the honor twice. Only Lia Domingo, Dominique Lemperle and Julyette Steur have ever earned the award three times.

The CU women's tennis team had a 3.214 team GPA this spring and a 3.544 GPA in the fall, the highest Fall GPA for the women's team in their history.
