2021 Captains

STANFORD, Calif. – The 2021 Stanford Football captains were announced by Bradford M. Freeman Director of Football David Shaw on Thursday evening inside Luck Auditorium. The Cardinal captains are annually voted upon by the student-athletes on the roster.
 
Representing Stanford as captains this season will be: returning captain Thomas Booker, alongside newly appointed captains Jordan Fox, Houston Heimuli and Michael Wilson.
 
Booker is Stanford's seventh two-time captain in Shaw's 11 seasons. He joins Kevin Hogan (2014-15), Peter Kalambayi (2016-17), Brandon Simmons (2017-18), Alameen Murphy (2017-18), K.J. Costello (2018-19) and Malik Antoine (2019-20).
 
A senior from Ellicott City, Md., Booker was a first-team All-Pac-12 performer in 2020 and earned CoSIDA Academic All-America first team honors. So far this preseason, he has been named to the watch lists for the Lott IMPACT Trophy, the William V. Campbell Trophy and the Bronko Nagurski Trophy. He is double majoring in economics and communication.
 
Fox is a sixth-year from Plainfield, N.J. and is currently working on his master's in communication after receiving his bachelor's degree in political science. He enters the season having made 106 career tackles with 14.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks.
 
Heimuli is a fifth-year from Woods Cross, Utah who is studying human biology. A dynamic fullback, Heimuli was named All-Pac-12 honorable mention in 2020. He was integral in the improved Cardinal running game, as Stanford tallied 15 rushing touchdowns in just six games.
 
Wilson is a senior from Simi Valley, Calif. and studying management science and engineering. He was named All-Pac-12 honorable mention in 2020, despite missing the final two-and-a-half games. He is on the Biletnikoff Award watch list entering 2021 and has twice been named to the Pac-12 All-Academic Honor Roll.
