Beavers Set to Clash with UC Irvine

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State University women's soccer team will head to Irvine, Calif. for a Thursday afternoon battle against UC Irvine on Sept. 9 at 3 p.m. Live stats will be available and the game will be streamed on ESPN+. 

Last Time Out
The Beavers extended their win streak to six during their weekend in Connecticut, picking up wins over Yale and Central Connecticut State.

On Sept. 3, Oregon State posted a 6-1 win over Yale in New Haven, Conn. Freshman McKenna Martinez and junior Brianna McReynolds notched two goals apiece. Sophomore Amber Jackson tallied her fourth goal of the season as well as an assist on Martinez's second goal, while  junior Sophie Conrad recorded her first goal of the season. Freshman Sawyer Service assisted both Martinez and McReynolds' first goals. Junior Maddie Tetz had the assist for McReynolds' second goal.  In goal, senior Bridgette Skiba tallied four saves and sophomore Hailey Coll made three. 
 
The Beavers closed out the weekend with a 2-0 shutout against Central Connecticut State on Sept. 5 in New Britain, Conn. In the 56th minute, Martinez found the net to put OSU up 1-0 over the Blue Devils. Junior Abby Schwartz scored with a penalty kick goal in the 82nd minute to secure the Beavers' lead. In goal, Skiba posted three saves. 
 
Last Time Against UC Irvine
The Beavers met UC Irvine on Sept. 6, 2013, in Corvallis, Ore. OSU fell, 2-0, to UCI. In the history books, the last Oregon State win against the Anteaters  was in 1994. 
 
Scouting UC Irvine 
UC Irvine is 4-2-0 (0-0-0 Big West). After starting the season with a 3-1 loss to No. 5 UCLA on Aug. 19, the Anteaters shutout Southern Utah, 6-0, on Aug. 22. UCI is on a three-match win-streak, having picked up a double overtime victory over CSUN (Aug. 29) and wins within regulation against Loyola Marymount (Sept. 2) and Cal State Fullerton (Sept. 5). 
 
Junior Scarlett Camberos has recorded four goals on the season, two of which were scored in the Anteaters' clash with Cal State Fullerton on Sept. 5. Leading the Anteaters in assists is sophomore Alyssa Moore and redshirt sophomore Destinee Manzo with three apiece. In goal, redshirt sophomore Glo Hinojosa has clocked 416:46 minutes, recorded 10 saves, and allowed five goals this season. 
 
The Anteaters went 3-0-2 in the spring, posting ties with Cal State Fullerton and Long Beach State. UCI defeated CSUN, 2-1, on April 25 and notched shutouts against UC Riverside (May 1) and UC Santa Barbara (May 7).
