Hasenauer Named Pac-12 Player of the Week

SAN FRANCISO – Midfielder Zoe Hasenauer has been named Pac-12 offensive player of the week for Sept. 6-12, the conference announced on Monday. It is her first career weekly honor.
 
The senior from Simi Valley, Calif., scored the game winner Friday at Texas and assisted Kess Elmore's goal Sunday at Baylor as the Ducks went 1-0-1 on their Lone Star State road trip.
 
In the Texas game, Hasenauer netted the game-winner in the 87th minute. She received a pass from Elmore and immediately went to work to clear a lane for herself. Hasenauer appeared to be going out to the right, but when a Texas defender overplayed the move to cut her off, Hasenauer deftly tapped the ball to her left, looked up and saw nothing but green between her and the goalkeeper.
 
Hasenauer, who had reentered the game just minutes prior, struck a sharp, left-footed line-drive that arced over Longhorns' goalkeeper Savannah Madden and then bent under the crossbar for the game-winner.
 
Sunday against Baylor, Hasenauer recorded her team-leading fourth assist of the year. It was the 15th career assist, tying former conference player of the year Nicole Garbin (2001-06) for third on the UO career list
 
Oregon hosts Portland Friday at 7 p.m. at Pape' Field.
