Kikuchi Posts Big Win At Chowderfest

Cal senior Yuta Kikuchi upset the nation's fourth-ranked player on Friday at Harvard.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Cal men's tennis team posted wins in singles and doubles on the first day of the Chowderfest, Harvard's annual invitational, on Friday at the Beren Tennis Center. Cal senior Yuta Kikuchi, ranked 124th, picked up a big victory in upsetting Florida's fourth-ranked Duarte Vale, a three-time All-American, 4-6, 6-4, 11-9.
 
The Golden Bear pair of Philip Hjorth and Michael Wright also topped the Gators' Andy Andrade and Lukas Greif, 6-3.
 
The invitational continues on Saturday starting at 11 a.m. ET.
