Bruins in the NFL: Week 3

Eighteen former UCLA football standouts were in action during Week 3 of the 2021 NFL season, with linebackers Myles Jack, Eric Kendricks and Kenny Young each turning in double-digit tackle showings. Rookies Demetric Felton and Osa Odighizuwa also continued to shine.

  • Krys Barnes, LB, Green Bay Packers – Before leaving during the second quarter due to a concussion, Barnes made three total tackles in a starting role.

  • Jayon Brown, ILB, Tennessee Titans – In 10 snaps off the bench, Brown made one assisted tackle for victorious Tennessee.

  • Kenny Clark, NT, Green Bay Packers – Starter Clark made two total tackles and added a hurry of the quarterback in Green Bay's narrow win over San Francisco.

  • Demetric Felton, RB, Cleveland Browns – Felton made two catches for 13 yards and was active in the return game, taking back seven punts for 103 total yards. Six of the rookie's seven returns went for double-digit yardage, including 23- and 24-yarders.

  • Myles Jack, MLB, Jacksonville Jaguars – Jack made a team-high total 10 tackles in his start.

  • Eric Kendricks, MLB, Minnesota Vikings – Starter Kendricks was all over the field, accumulating a team-high 11 total tackles and his first sack of the season (for a loss of six yards). He made two tackles for loss in all, and added a quarterback hurry for Minnesota, which knocked off Seattle.

  • Takkarist McKinley, DE, Cleveland Browns – McKinley logged two total tackles, including half a sack for a four-yard loss, in Cleveland's 26-6 result over Chicago. He also turned in a quarterback hurry that resulted in an interception.

  • Fabian Moreau, CB, Atlanta Falcons – Starter Moreau made one tackle in Atlanta's 17-14 decision over the Giants.

  • Osa Odighizuwa, DT, Dallas Cowboys – Odighizuwa continued to impress in the early season, making four combined tackles that included 1.5 sacks for a loss of 17 total yards. The rookie was also credited with one tackle for loss and two quarterback hurries in a convincing win by Dallas over Philadelphia.

  • Kenny Young, ILB, Los Angeles Rams – Young's standout season carried on, as he made 10 total tackles in the Rams' 34-24 triumph over defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay. He sacked quarterback Tom Brady for a loss of nine yards and made three tackles for loss in all. Young also hurried Brady once and forced a fumble that went out of bounds.

  • C Jake Brendel (San Francisco 49ers), CB Darnay Holmes (New York Giants), C Andre James (Las Vegas Raiders), TE Marcedes Lewis (Green Bay Packers), OT Kolton Miller (Las Vegas Raiders), C Scott Quessenberry (Los Angeles Chargers), WR Matthew Slater (New England Patriots) and LB Jacob Tuioti-Mariner (Atlanta Falcons) also played, but did not record any statistics.
