Men's Golf Set for Arkansas Tournament on Golf Channel

Oct 3, 2021

FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. – For its first trip to Arkansas in a two-week span, Arizona Men's Golf will be a part of the mixed field of 10 teams at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational. The Wildcats will play alongside Arizona Women's Golf in the 54-hole event that will be broadcasted by the Golf Channel. The Blessings tournament will be Arizona's third of the fall after competing in Arizona and Illinois.

"This is a big-time tournament that will have a postseason atmosphere for our team to compete in," said head coach Jim Anderson. "Playing in a marquee event like this will be great setting for our team to experience in the fall as a preview of what our spring will be like. I am excited to see how guys compete after playing in two high-quality tournaments and working hard in practice and qualifying rounds."

The Arizona lineup will include four returners with freshman Jackson Norwich making his first collegiate start. Graduate senior Christian Banke and sophomore Sam Sommerhauser turned in career-low rounds in the season-opening Maui Jim Intercollegiate enroute to their first top-10 finishes as Wildcats.

The second annual Blessings Collegiate Invitational is a mixed, 54-hole event with the men's and women's programs from 10 schools. The Golf Channel will air the tournament live from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. (MST) for all three days of play, beginning on Monday, Oct. 4.
