Wildcats Up Next For Washington

SEATTLE – Washington is back in action on Friday, Oct. 15 as the Huskies (3-6-3, 1-2-2) head to the desert to face Arizona (3-9, 0-5) under the lights. The match is slated for a 7:00 p.m. start and will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks.

The Huskies and Wildcats will matchup for the 27th time overall. UW holds the series lead 18-6-2, with the Dawgs on a two-match win streak. Most recently, Washington won 3-0 in Tucson last March.

The Huskies are coming off a homestand in which UW split with the Bay Area schools. Washington earned their first win in Pac-12 play with a 1-0 win over California. Summer Yates scored the game-winner for Washington in the 6th minute. Yates' goal was her third of the season and the 18th of her Husky career.

Senior Ruby Hellstrom scored her first goal of the season last match against the No. 14 Cardinal in a 2-1 defeat. The goal was the sixth of Hellstrom's career and it came on a sliding shot in the box that was assisted from Yates.

In five conference matches, Yates is averaging one point per game. Yates' SOG% of .609 is currently the highest in the conference of any player with at least one shot on goal per game. Yates is two points away from a tie for 10th in program history at 51.

Goalkeeper Olivia Sekany holds a .712 save percentage and a 1.29 goals against average, which ranks seventh in the conference. She has recorded 42 saves so far, an average of four per game. Her third shutout of the season came against Cal, as she recorded three saves in that contest.

Midfielder Olivia Van der Jagt has played 82 games in her career, currently tied for 7th all-time in UW history.

UW sits in seventh place in the Pac-12, with a record of 1-2-2, with six conference matchups remaining in the regular season.
