Hopcroft Scores Pac-12 Offensive Honor

Oct 18, 2021

SAN FRANCISCO—It's been quite the 24 hours for Colorado senior Shanade Hopcroft. She made headline news with her bicycle-kick goal in CU's 2-2 draw against No. 13 Stanford and was the No. 2 play in SportsCenter's Top-10. On Monday, she secured her first Pac-12 Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Hopcroft, a native of Aylesbury, England, helped fuel the Buffaloes' comeback against the Cardinal on Sunday. She scored her acrobatic goal in the 64th minute, cutting into Stanford's 2-0 lead and then two minutes later assisted on Jade Babcock-Chi's equalizer.

The senior midfielder who is in her second season with the Buffs, leads Colorado points (18), goals (5) and assists (8) this season. Hopcroft has scored all of her goals in CU's last eight games and has recorded at least one point in eight of CU's last 10 matches.

Hopcroft ranks 28th in the NCAA (2nd Pac-12) with 0.57 assists per game. Her eight assists lead the Pac-12 this season and are 25th in the country.

The Buffs close out the home slate this week, taking on Oregon on Thursday (3 p.m.) and Oregon State on Sunday (Noon).
