Nov 15, 2021

SAN FRANCISCO – Arizona forward Cate Reese was named Pac-12 Player of the Week after helping lead the Wildcats to a 2-0 start, including a win over No. Louisville, the league announced on Wednesday.

The 6-2 Reese showed no signs of rust following the offseason as she dropped 14 points and snagged five boards in an 87-44 win over CSUN to open the season. Against the Matadors, Reese shot 6-12 from the field and grabbed three offensive boards.

Reese followed that up with a dominant performance against No. 6 Louisville at the Mammoth sports Construction Invitational in Sioux Falls, S.D. During the Wildcats 61-59 overtime win over the Cardinals, Reese dropped 21 points, grabbed five rebounds, drilled three three-pointers and went a perfect 6-6 from the charity stripe.

All told, Reese averaged 17.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game and shot 50% from deep and 87.5% from the free throw line.
