Lake Honored as Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week

Nov 23, 2021
Quentin Lake (37)

NEWPORT BEACH, CA. -Senior safety Quentin Lake was named the Lott IMPACT® Trophy Player of the Week on Tuesday after his performance in the 62-33 Bruin win over USC.

Lake keyed the Bruin defense with seven tackles, including two for loss, and also added an interception in the victory. He intercepted a first quarter pass at the Bruin 21-yard line to end a potential USC scoring drive as the Trojans attempted to go up by two scores in the early going. Lake added two second-half tackles for loss on pass plays to help slow any Trojan comeback chances to help preserve the Bruin's first win in the crosstown series at the Coliseum since 2013. It was Lake's second interception of the season and fifth of his career.

The son of former Bruin All-America linebacker Carnell Lake, Quentin has 30 career starts and is the team leader in passes defensed this season. He has earned a spot on the UCLA Athletic Director's Academic Honor Roll in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 and is now enrolled in graduate school.

The Lott IMPACT® Trophy recognizes student-athletes for their excellence both on and off the field. The Pacific Club IMPACT® Foundation sponsors the Lott IMPACT® Trophy and has donated more than $1.6 million to universities and charities throughout the country.
