Sun Devil Soccer’s Nicole Douglas earns first-team all-region honors

Nov 29, 2021

TEMPE, Ariz. – The United Soccer Coaches (USC) today announced that Sun Devil Soccer's Nicole Douglas was one of 15 student-athletes named to the USC All-Pacific Region First Team.

Douglas, who earlier this month was one 13 players named to the All-Pac-12 First Team, is coming off a 2021 campaign in which she set the single-season school records for goals (19) and points (45).

With only this weekend's College Cup games remaining to be played, Douglas still leads the nation in goals (19) and goals per game (0.95). At the conclusion of the regular season, Douglas led the nation in points (45) and points per game (2.25). She is now second in both categories.

Within Pac-12-only games, Douglas was the undisputed leader in goals (10), goals per game (0.91 per game), points (23) and points per game (2.09). Douglas either scored or assisted on a goal in all but five games this season. She became the school's new single-season record holder in both goals and points after finding the back of the net and adding a pair of assists in ASU's 4-1 win over Utah on Oct. 31. She added one more goal in ASU's season finale at Arizona (Nov. 5).

As a first-team all-region honoree, Douglas, who last season earned second-team all-region recognition, now has a chance to claim All-America honors, which will be announced later this week.

Currently with 46 career goals and 109 career points, Douglas, who intends on returning for a fifth season, stands in position to become the school's career leader in both categories in 2022 as she trails only ASU Hall of Famer Stacey Tullock (50 career goals, 125 career points in both categories).
