Beavers Snag LSU Transfer Reese Moffatt

Dec 6, 2021

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State women's soccer has added Louisiana State University transfer Reese Moffatt to the 2022 team, announced head coach Lauren Sinacola on Monday.

"We are very excited about adding Reese to our Beaver family," noted Sinacola. "She is a strong defender that is extremely composed on the ball to go along with a great range of pass. On top of that, she is a great person who will fit into what we are about at Oregon State."

The Langley, British Columbia native plans to join the Beavers this upcoming spring and intends to study New Media Communications.

With the Tigers, Moffatt played a pivotal role for the backline starting 63 of 77 games played during her four-year career. Moffatt helped LSU win a SEC Tournament Championship in 2018 and has appeared in two NCCA Tournaments, including this past season.

The exceptional defender scored a goal to go along with two assists while donning the Purple & Gold. After her performance at Florida this past spring, she was named SEC Offensive Player of Week after scoring a goal and dishing out an assist to help LSU defeat the Gators, 2-1, back on March 14.

With the help of Moffatt, the Tigers reeled off eight straight wins to begin the 2021 campaign with wins over No. 15 USF, No. 19 UCF and No. 21 Arizona State as LSU climbed up to No. 5 in the United States Soccer Coaches top-25 poll. Moffat and the rest of the Tigers' season came to an end in the NCAA Tournament first round following a defat to No. 18 Memphis.

Off the field, Moffatt was named to the 2020 Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll.

"I choose Oregon State because of the competitive environment and unified team culture that are all wrapped up into one," commented Moffatt. "They have a great soccer program that looks to get better every day and pushes you to hit the next level. The campus and surrounding areas are also extremely beautiful and will only add to my experience in Corvallis."
