Utes in the Pros: Week 14 Preview, Week 13 Recap

Dec 9, 2021

SALT LAKE CITY – Only four weeks remain after the conclusion of Week 14 and teams that are atop of their division will look to create some separation this weekend. 17 Pro Utes will suit up as three games will feature at least two former Utes in head to head matchups.

To start off the fun, Javelin Guidry and the New York Jets welcome Marcus Williams and the New Orleans Saints into Metlife Stadium on Sunday. The Saints are currently on the bubble in the playoff picture and a win could bring them within one of the final playoff spots. Williams sits in third on the Saints with 59 tackles on the season and is the only player in the top-six of tacklers to own a forced fumble.

Garett Bolles is back and healthy after being on the teams COVID/reserve list. Bolles, Tim Patrick and the Denver Broncos (6-6) have a crucial matchup with John Penisini and the Detroit Lions (1-10) on Sunday that, with a win, will help inch them closer to being able to fight for one of the last playoff spots. Detroit captured their first victory of the year last weekend and will want to build off of the momentum.

Three Utes will be in action under the lights on Monday Night Football as Terrell Burgess, Matt Gay and the Los Angeles Rams (8-4) visit Leki Fotu and the league leading Arizona Cardinals (10-2). The Rams are currently sitting comfortably in the middle of the playoff race owning the fifth spot with some breathing room over Washington (6-6).
