Rogers Named to The Bowerman Preseason Watch List

Jan 5, 2022

USTFCCCA Release

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Wednesday that Cal thrower Camryn Rogers is one of just 10 women's track & field athletes to earn a spot on the preseason watch list for The Bowerman. The award is collegiate track & field's highest honor, presented to the nation's top men's and women's athletes each year by the USTFCCCA.

This is Rogers' third appearance on The Bowerman Watch List after becoming the first Cal athlete in history  – male or female – to reach the list in May of 2021. She was subsequently named a semifinalist in June following her collegiate record-setting hammer throw performance of 75.52m (247-9) at that year's NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

"Kudos to Camryn for being selected for this honor – I am excited to hear this news," Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Robyne Johnson said. "I look forward to seeing what Camryn will do this year, as well as the rest of our team."

Rogers and the 2022 Golden Bears begin their season on Saturday, Jan. 22 at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invite in Albuquerque, N.M.
