Beavers Return to Seattle for UW Invitational

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State women's track and field team will travel to Seattle, Wash. for the UW Invitational, hosted by the University of Washington at the Dempsey Indoor Center, this Friday and Saturday. Friday's competition will start at 3 p.m. with the women's weight throw and the preliminary round of the women's 60-meter hurdles. Saturday's action on the track will start at 9:30 a.m. with the 3000 meters, while field events will kick off at 10 a.m. with the women's long jump. 

Last Time Out
The Beavers last competed on Jan. 15 at the UW Indoor Preview in Seattle, Wash. Senior Emma Nelson matched her indoor personal best of 1.70m (5' 7") to clinch first in the high jump. Redshirt senior Keely McLaughlin also notched a first-place finish, recording a toss of 13.35m (43' 9.75")  in the shot put. In the triple jump, freshman Jaaden Steele placed third with a leap of 11.19m (36' 8.5"). 
 
On the track, freshman Jillian Brown clocked an indoor personal best of 3:04.94 in the 1000 meters, placing second in the event. Brown also posted a personal best in the 600 meters, finishing third with a time of 1:37.86. Freshman Jada Hurley advanced to the 60-meter dash final after finishing fourth in the qualifying round with a time of 7.76. In the final, Hurley placed sixth with a time of 7.80. Sophomore Adael Scatena notched fifth-place finishes in the 200 meters (25.46, PR) and 400 meters (57.88) as well as sixth-place finishes in the 60-meter hurdles qualifying and final rounds with times of 9.18 and 9.29, respectively.
