Cats Sweep Shot Put in NAU Tune-Up

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Arizona Track and Field swept the shot put and broke several personal records in the NAU Tune-Up to prepare themselves for the end of the indoor season.

The Wildcats brought their best in the shot put, placing first in both men's and women's. Mackenna Orie won by throwing a mark of 15.98m to tie her PR in the event, while Jordan Geist finished up the meet by tossing a season-high mark of 20.91m.

Women's high jump dominated the competition as they placed in three out of the top four positions. Talie Bonds and Alexa Porpaczy tied for second with jumps of 1.76m, with Diana Ramos in fourth with a final jump of 1.71m.

Bonds also made her mark in the 60m hurdles, finishing second in the finals with a new PR of 8.18. She is now the third-fastest woman in the Pac-12 conference in the 60m hurdles. Katie Daily kicked off the meet with a third-place finish in the women's pole vault with a height of 3.83m.

Next up, the Wildcats will travel to Seattle, Wash for the Pac-12 Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 25-26.
