Mia Corbin Signs With Alajuelense

Feb 24, 2022

BERKELEY – Cal alum Mia Corbin signed a professional contract with Liga Deportiva Alajuelense, a first-division soccer team in Costa Rica this week.

Corbin played four seasons with the Bears, graduating after the 2019 campaign. She was a standout for the blue and gold as she played in 80 career games. She scored six goals and tallied 11 assists in her Cal career, including a six-assist campaign as a senior, which tied for the team lead.

"Mia is an outstanding talent and we are both happy and proud to see her sign to play professionally in Costa Rica," Cal head coach Neil McGuire said. "They are also getting a first-class person. We wish her every success."

Corbin was a two-time Pac-12 All-Academic honoree and a team captain in 2019. She was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman team in 2016.

Alajuelense is one of the top teams in Costa Rica having won three Primera Division Titles and two Concacaf Champions League titles.

Corbin has been part of the U.S. youth setup as she was a member of the U.S. Under-19 Women's National Team Player Pool.

Corbin is a native of Maple Valley, Washington and was in camp with OL Reign during the 2021 preseason.
