Track & Field Concludes Pac-12 Invitational with Stellar Marks

SEATTLE – The Utah track & field team had a great showing on the final day of the Pac-12 Invitational inside Dempsey Indoor Track posting more PRs and school record marks.
 
Simone Plourde kicked things open for Utah in the mile finishing fourth overall with a PR time of 4:36.12, which moves her up one spot in the school record books and passes Sarah Feeney (4:36.67). Sophie Ryan finished her mile in 4:53.23.
 
Josefine Eriksen broke her own school record in the 400m dash that she recently broke on Saturday, running a time of 54.01 to win her heat and take fifth overall. Lauren O'Banion crossed the finish line at 57.51 while Rachel Whipple nearly missed her PR with a time of 58.66. Ruby Jane Mathewson closed out the race for Utah with a mark of 59.62.
 
Brooke Manson won her heat in the 800m race with a time of 2:09.99 for sixth overall while Jasie York posted a new personal best time of 2:12.06.
 
Over in the 3000m race, the trio of Bella Williams, Cara Woolnough and Keelah Barger crushed their previous PRs and all clocked top-15 finishes. Williams posted a time of 9:10.16 to destroy her previous PR of 9:47.35 and took fifth overall while also bumping Emily Venters for second all-time in the record books. Meanwhile, Woolnough recorded an eighth-place finish behind a time of 9:13.57 – pushing her to fourth all-time in school history. Barger, who was 10th in the record books (9:37.41), jumped one spot to No. 9 after she ran a 9:26.19 on Saturday. Hannah Butler finished two spots ahead of Morgan Jensen for 24th overall with a time of 9:49.33 to Jensen's 9:53.30 with Karli Branch the last Ute to cross the finish line at 9:59.63.
 
Utah's 4x400m relay squad of O'Banion, York, Davis and Eriksen concluded the day with a seventh-place finish at 3:44.98.
