McCoy Caps Career With WSU Record, Wins 200 Back at CSCAA NIC

ELKHART, Ind. (March 12, 2022) – Washington State Women's Swimming senior Taylor McCoy capped her career with a school record and a CSCAA NIC title in the 200 back on the final day of the CSCAA National Invitational Championships Saturday.
 
Washington State tallied 202 points to finish No. 12 out of 43 competing teams.
 
McCoy opened the evening session with history, swimming the 200 backstroke in 1:55.86 to win the CSCAA NIC title and set the school record in her final race at Coug. McCoy finishes her career with a team-best 13 individual wins this season and with 43 career victories. Also in the 200 back, freshman Noelle Harvey continued her breakout weekend with her fourth WSU Top-10 time of the week, posting a 1:56.71 to finish No. 11 in the event and the third-fastest in program history.
 
Later in the evening, senior Mackenzie Duarte finished eighth in the 200 breast and the 400 free relay team finished seventh led by Harvey who opened the race with a 49.74, the third-fastest 100 free time in program history and fifth WSU Top-10 time of the meet.
 
Next up for Washington State is senior Chloe Larson heading to the NCAA Championships for the second straight year to compete in the 50 and 100 free in Atlanta next week.
